Whakatane Branch Annual Meeting
At the annual meeting of the Whakatane Branch of the Labour Party the following officers were elected: President, Mr R. Riddell (re-elected); vice-president, Mr Ti A. Connery; secretary, Mr V- I. Allen (re-elected); treasurer, Mr A. L. Kilgour; liaison officer, Hr R. S. Buttimore; hon. auditor, Mr H. Carr; committee, Messrs D. G. Beattie, J. Bowering, A. Fitzgerald and W. Wilson, Mesdames Fitzgerald, Knowles and Wilson; social committee convener and secretary, Mr Noel Bowering. The meeting was well attended and. fully representative of Labour interests and affiliations.
Finances as reported by the treasurer were in a healthy state. Card evenings" |*eld during the winter months proved happy events and will be repeated, commencing this week.
The forthcoming election was discussed and preliminary arrangements made.
