After a three weeks’ holiday at Coromandel and North Auckland, Mr and Mrs H. Brabant returned to Whakatane on Saturday.
Mrs J. Montecino, of Gisborne, who has been spending a few days here in the course of a holiday tour, went on to Te Puke todav.
Mr and Mrs Richard Dodd, Auckland, both formerly of Whakatane, visited Whakatane yesterday in the course of a tour of the North'lsland.
Miss Audsley Cullen, who was Red Cross Therapist at the Whakatane Hospital up to June 1948, was married in England on February 10 last, and is now living near Coventry.
Mr S. W. Hills, left Whakatane on Thursday for Hawera to which town he has been transferred as postmaster. The relieving postmaster, Mr G. A. Wilkes, took charge of the Whakatane * Post Office on Wednesday..
Mr R. Riddell, a. senior member of the Whakatane Post Office staff, retires on Thursday after 40 years service in the Department, four and a half of which have been spent at Whakatane. He intends to continue to live in this district.
