Other notices garnered by a curi-. ous traveller in the United States:— In a New York tavern: “Please don’t stand up while room is in motion.”
On a Cape Cod cinema: “Adam Had Four Sons—at 12.10, 3.00, 3.50 and 8.30.”
In a Bowery restaurant: “Don’t be afraid to ask for credit. Our refusal will be polite.” In a Chicago tavern: “If you must drive you husband to drink, head him this way.” In a Baltimore barber shop:- “During alterations patrons will be shaved in the back.” In the window of a New York reducing salon: “What have you got to lose?”
