Early Morning Fire

A fire, which broke out in the sitting room of Mr J. Windlev’s residence, Francis Street, Whakatane, resulted in the Whakatane Volunteer Fire Brigade’s being called out at about 4.10 a.m. today. The outbreak was not serious, only ' damage being to an easy chair and to a portion of the wallpaper on one of the walls. Brigadesmen had little difficulty in extinguishing the fire with bucket pumps.
