“SOWN IN THE DARKNESS”
Sir, —Broken glass deliberately sown in the Borough streets leaves the cyclist the option of being killed by a passing car or punctured tryes. Neither the police or traffic inspectors are. omnipresent, so why not form a Cyclist Vigilant Club. To catch the nocturnal vandals seat them firmly on the seed of kindness they have sown for others, and spin them round until the after part of their anatomy is well punctured, a soothing linament of well matured butcher’s brine would advertise the felicity of future treatment if the offences were repeated. “Drastic treatment”? Certainly, but their hide is the only sensitve part of those who callously sow death and destruction for others to reap therefore to the hide. The remedy should be applied.
Yours etc., HARRY SERGANT.
