Waimana W.I. Gardening Circle
The March meeting of the Wai-mana-Nukuhou W.I. gardening circle was held at Mrs S. Eagle’s home. Mrs M. King presided. After the minutes, . Mrs Wylde, past president, presented points prizes won during the past year by members.
The retiring secretary and president, Mrs Hewitt. and Mrs Wylde, were each presented with a shoulder spray and a small gift from members in appreciation of their .work for the circle during the past year. Mrs Wylde gave an interesting demonstration on formal and infor-
mal (modern) arrangement,of flowers in bowls or flat containers.
A competition arranged by Mrs Eagle, guessing the names of flowers by their perfume: Mrs M. King 1, Mrs Whiteman 2, Mrs Wylde 3. The day’s competitions were: — Novelty decoration: Mrs S. Eagle 1, Mrs Potter 2, Mrs Wylde 3. Best flower: Mrs M. King 1, Mrs Whiteman, 2, Mrs Hewitt 3. Best vegetable: Mrs Hewitt 1, Mrs M. King 2, Mrs S. Eagle 3.
