WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL SPECIAL ORDER Notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Whakatane County Council held on Tuesday the 22nd day of February, 1949, the following resolutions were passed and such will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held on Tuesday the 22nd day of March, 1949, at 11 a.m. at the County Council Chambers, Whakatane. RESOLUTIONS Building & Drainage By-Laws: “That resolution carried at special meeting held on the 24th January 1933 (confirmed at ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 14th March, 1933) and which deals with By-Law No. 23 (Buildings) and By-Law No. 25 (Drainage) be rescinded.” Drainage By-Law: “That as empowered by 1933 ByLaw 25, Section 23. such By-Law be suspended and the operation thereof be indefinitely postponed with the exception only of the application of such By-Law to the Comity townships viz. . Waimana, Chops, Taneatua, Ruatoki, Te Teko, Edgecumbe, Thornton, Matate, Murupara, Te Whaiti and Matahina, and to any drainage works connected with any buildings of any desorption erected or to be erected where the land in the ownership or occupation of any person intending to effect such drainage works is less than two acres in area.”
The object and purport of the above resolutions is (1) To apply the Building by-law to the whole N of the Whakatane County. (2) To apply the Drainage by-la\s to the townships mentioned in the resolution and to buildings erected or to be erected on land in the ownership or occupation of any person which is less than two acres in area.
