Whakatane Lyceum Club

The annual meeting of the Whakatane .Lyceum Club was held in the club rooms on Wednesday when there was a good attendance of members. Mrs E. T. Dawson presided. ' The president, in her report, said it was apparent from the increasing membership, and interest taken generally that the club was filling a definite need in the community, and members were looking forward to a year of fresh interests. Points of interest decided were—the social afternoon will now . be held on . the fourth Friday of each, month, the Musical Circle will meet on the second Friday, and the Drama Circle on the third' Friday. The Bridge Circle will meet on the second Monday, and the fourth Monday. An innovation wil be an evening meeting to be held each month on the first Thursday. Election of officers: President, Mrs E: T. Dawson; vice-president, Mrs G. Otley; secretary, Mrs S.- C. Spence; committee, Mesdames R. E„ Blair, N. Carter, A. E. Haultain, L. King, L. Littlejohn, L. Lovelock, F. Sumner, Miss E. Howell.
