Surf Lifesaving

Whakatane To Travel To Gisborne (By “Splash”) Tomorrow the Whakatane Surf Club travels to Gisborne to take part in surf competitions for the Bay of Plenty Cup to be held at Wainui Beach on Sunday. Two sixman teams will compete and other members will swim in the surf races and surf ski relay. This is the first time the cup has been competed for since before the war and clubs beside Whakatane and Gisborne who are attending are Mt. Maunganui and Waihi. Whakatane will; return Sunday night.
