HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMERS SHOW DECIDED PROMISE
The annual swimming sports of the secondary department of the Whakatane District High School were held last week at the old wharf. Conditions on the day were not particularly good, and there were the usual mishaps associated with the absence of facilities—collisions, and swimmers getting far off course. However, the sports revealed some swimmers of decided promise, and the champions will meet those from other secondary schools in the Bay at the interschools meeting at Te Puke next week.
