Traffic Offenders Before Court

Because he could produce only an expired motor car licence when he was caught driving a car, William James Orr, farmer, Edgecumbe, was prosecuted by Mr A. Carling, county traffic inspector, in the Whakatane Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Mr E. L. Walton, S.M. He was fined 10/-, costs £l. Manuhuia Unuhuri, Piripai, was convicted and fined 5/-, costs 16/because he only had an expired motor car licence when found driving a truck by the police. He was also charged with failing to keep to the left of the road when driving a truck along the Paper Mills road on January 15. On this charge he was remanded to appear again on April 7.
