Registered Nurses’ Social Afternoon

Well-attended, and planned to give the maximum enjoyment, a social afternoon held by the Bay of Plenty branch of the Registered Nurses’ Association in the St John Hall on Saturday ' afternoon was highly successful. Afternoon tea was delicious and attractively served. At the conclusion of the afternoon members expressed their appreciation of the following items: Songs, Mrs F. J. Climo (“Little Old Garden” and “Bird Songs at Eventide”), Miss Breckon (“Cherry Ripe” and “You’ll Get Heaps of Lickings”), Mrs Norman Carter (“A Brown Bird Singing”, “At Dawning”, “Bless This House” and “Passing By”); humorous recitations, Mrs W. J. Hepburn (“One Month’s Notice”, “I Would If I Could” and “Last Straw”); violin solos, Mrs R. H. Larmer (“Romanze,,’ “Admiral’s Gaillard” and “Tristesse”). Mesdames R. Stewart and King played the accompaniments.
