League Of Mothers Annual Picnic

The Whakatane League of Mothers first annual picnic was held on Tuesday at the home of Mr and Mrs W. B. Gow, Edgecumbe, and was an outstanding success. The bus, which left Whakatane, was completely filled and many private cars brought a number of other picnickers. The home and gardens were an ideal setting for the, day. Tennis and tennis quoits were the main occupations. Lunch was served buffet style on the lawns. Mrs M. J. Metcalfe, vice-president, welcomed all the members and friends present.
