Programme Being Drafted For Picnic Race Meeting

April 23 has been decided on as a provisional date for the first picnic meeting of the Whakatane Racing Club, the chairman, Mr D. S. Radcliffe, told the first general meeting of the club, since its incorporation, at Edgecumbe on Tuesday night. The committee has commenced drawing up a programme, which will be submitted to the district committee for approval. Reports were received on the incorporation and the registration of the club under the rules of racing. The new regulations for the Te Teko racecourse were adopted and the secretary was instructed to apply for approval and for publication in the New Zealand Gazette. The officers and committee of the old club were all re-elected to similar positions in the new incorporated club.
