Wedding Tippett—Robins
The wedding took place at St. George’s Church recently of Margaret Edith, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. C. Robins, Thornton, and Gordon Chilcott, younger son of Mrs Tippett and the late Mr S. H. Tippett, Whakatane. Entering, the church on ~-tjhe arm of her father, the bride*.Rooked charming in a gown of slipper satin, made with a fiftMgj bodice buttoning to the waist at the back, long sleeves and a full, slightly trained skirt. Scallops outlined the neckline and hemline. The beautiful lace veil was held, in place with a spray of begonias and begonias and roses formed the bridal bouquet. Her bridesmaid, Miss Shirley Otley, wore a frock of candy pink mpire taffeta made with a fitting bodice, short sleeves, scalloped neckline and sleeve edge and a full skirt • surmounted by a double bustle at the back. Pink mittens and a short tulle veil held to the head with lilies were worn and lilies and delphiniums were carried. Mr Brian Alexander carried out the duties of best man. Many guests attended a reception at the Thornton Hall, a garden reception being abandoned on account of the doubtful weather. Mr and Mrs Tippett later left by car, the bride wearing a honey gold wool suit with brown veiled hat and accessories.
To make her day quite perfect, the bride’s brother, Mr Geoff Robins, who has been travelling extensively overseas, was able to get home in time for the wedding.
