LAST SATURDAY’S SHOW

Sir,—Please allow me, through your columns, to acknowledge very gratefully indeed, the capable help which was forthcoming from every quarter and given cheerfully and unstintingly to make our show the success that it was. Our Society is fortunate in possessing a band of helpers in its stewards which works harmoniously as a team. We enjoyed, too, a much greater measure of assistance from those not directly connected with our executive than has been the case in past years. This is especially gratifying because we realise that real success will not be achieved by our Society until some measure of responsibility for and pride in our progress is felt by all who be within Borough and County. To our ladies who, under their own capable leadership, overcame all difficulties and assisted us so materially I tender my sincerest thanks. Names cannot be mentioned where all put their shoulder to the wheel, but I cannot conclude without acknowledging on behalf of all those who worked with him the fine conduct of Mr Hamilton Morgan. Mr Morgan, although under doctor’s orders to cease work, would not’ let us down. He goes into hospital immediately for treatment and it is our sincerest hope that we have not ourselves been the means of retarding his progress towards a speedy recovery. May my last words be this: We feel pleasure as a Society that some successes have rewarded our efforts. We know that we have made some mistakes. We hope to profit in the future from both success and failure. With thanks Sir, for your courtesy. Yours etc., lAN B. GQW-
