Local Big Game Fishermen’s Success.

Quite a successful and enjoyable time was spent at Mayor Island, Tauranga recently by a party of local deep sea fishing enthusiasts. Members of the party were Messrs K. and F. Villis, G. McConachie, M. Moßae and T. Roberts.

Eight fish were caught, all striped marlin with the exception of one shark, caught by Mr Mcßae. The two heaviest striped marlin to date to be hooked from Mr Barney’s boat fell to the rod of Mr T. Roberts, weights being 3151bs and 2801bs.
