Serious Charges Against Farm Hand

After hearing lengthy evidence against Sinclair Valentine Anderson, married farmhand with two children, on Monday Messrs H.. G. Warren and J. Rutherford J’s P., found that a prima facie case had not been established on two charges of unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl alleged to be only 15 years old. The informations were dismissed. Constable R. F. Julian conducted the police case, and Mr R. H. Mackay of Auckland, submitted on behalf of the accused that, in the evidence before the Court, there was no conclusive proof of the girl’s age, and on that ground the information should be dismissed.
