The Kehoe Fund: Is it Taxable?
So far the' response to the fund to help Mrs Kehoe and family has been good, but one retarding factor has been the doubts some people harbour as to whether they will receive all the donations in full. Tof get this straight, the following telegram was sent to the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, this morning:— “Whakatane has established a fund to help widow, and family of murdered Traffic Officer Kehoe. Some reluctant subscribe for fear money is tax- | : able. Is it?” Mr. Nash’s reply will be published when received. Meanwhile, money continues to come in.
