Funeral Of Richard McGill

The funeral of Richard Angus McGill took place privately at Auckland. It was attended by the deceased’s parents, who reside in Auckland, also by several relatives and friends. There were five cars, and several wreaths rested on the funeral coach. The Rev. C. L. French conducted a short service at the undertaker’s chapel in Parnell, 1 and at the Waikumete cemetery. The inscription on the casket read “Richard Angus McGill, aged 19 years.” Of the six pallbearers, three were constables, two of whom took part in the Whakatane search, while the other had been on guard duty.
