Coming-Of-Age Party At Taneatua

A very enjoyable party was held in the Taneatua Hall last week to celebrate the 21st birthday of Greg, son of Mr and Mrs Les Grey, of Taneatua. The hall was arranged with small tables and seats in divisions resembling cubicles. Freddy Burt’s -orchestra provided the dance music for 140 guests. During the evening a “Gay Nineties” item was given by Dick Oden, ; George Roger and Tom Hill. A very humorous sketch was also contributed by Roger Hill. The highlight of the evening was supper which consisted of beautiful sandwiches and savouries to Petits Fours, Pauovas an Bon Bons. The birthday cake was made by Mrs Savage, grandmother of the guest of honour. •Julets and Punches were served during the evening. Mr Marx, an old friend of the family, proposed the toast to the guest of honour, and wished him on behalf f all his friends the happiest of birthdays, the guests all singing the time honoured songs for the occasion.

Dancing continued until an early hour and the guests dispersed with many hearty expressions of gratitude to Mr and Mrs Grey for a won- • derful evening.
