SHOW ENTRIES INDICATIVE OF GREAT SUCCESS
Entries to hand indicate that to- j morrow’s summer show Under the \ auspices of the Whakatane and Rangitaiki A. and P. Society (Inc) has a good chance of being the most successful on record. In all sections entries received to date by the sec- ' retary, Mr T. H. Morgan, compare favourably with the last show, held in. 1947. Much more than usual interest is shown in ring events, in which there seems likely to be a record number of starters. Inquiries for trade exhibit and side show space indicate that these sections of the ground are going to
be intensely interesting and, given a fine day, there seems no reason why this , show should not be the best ever. Concerning entries, here are, comparative figures for some of the sections: Pigs, this year 93, 1947 117; sheep, 58, 44; bloodstock, 13, 5; horses, 44, 46; Shorthorns, 13, 14;Jerseys, 103, 138; Friesians, 46, 39; Ayrshires, 13, 17; Calf club entries, 22, 32. 1 It must be remembered some of the figures for the present year are not yet complete.
