Pickled Pelt Prices At Opening Sale

The New Zealand Meat Producers Board advises that the first sale for the season of Pickled Sheep and Lamb Pelts under the Pickled Sheep and Lamb Pelts Emergency Regulations w’as held at Wellington on January 26. Offerings totalled 119 lots, comprising 27,564 dozen sheep and 141,549 dozen lamb pelts. A full bench of buyers was present. Prices for Lamb Pelts were firm on thotee of the last sale for the preceding season, with sheep pelts showing a slight' falling tendency. Range of prices:— Auckland District: Sheep, 79/- to 88/- per dozen; Lambs, 46/6 to 51/6. Hawkes Bay-East Coast: Sheep, .74/- to 92/- per dozen; Lambs, 35/to 47/-.
