Appreciation For Swimming Club

Appreciation of what the Whakatane Swimming Club is doing in assisting children to learn to swim was expressed by a grateful mother to a Beacon reporter yesterday. “At the beginning of the year my little girl could not swim,” she said. “But all through the summer I sent her to the classes conducted by the Swimming Club on Saturday afternoons. It only cost sixpence and now she can swipa fairly well and is at home in the water. “I feel the club is not getting the support it should for the great Work it is doing,” she added. The Whakatane Swimming Club conducts “learnwto-swim” classes every Saturday afternoon at the High School baths, and instruction is open to anyone.
