You can eat lettuce, watercress, celery, green vegetables, salads, fresh fruit, dry cheese such as Cheddar, roast beef (lean), cutlets, lean lamb, chicken, egg, broth and all clear soups. But avoid starchy foods, foods fried in fat, rice,'porridge, suet puddings, chocolates, spaghetti, baked beans, potaoes, peas, thick sauces, gravies, thick soups, cream cheese, fat ham, pork, bacon, sausages, bread, pastry, cake, salmon, sardines.
