PRAISE FOR OHOPE
Sir,—During the recent holidays I was one of those fortunate persons privileged to enjoy the swimming and surroundings at your lovely Ohope Beach. I" share entirely the views of .so many others that, for young and old alike, there is no better beach in New Zealand. With so many natural .advantages it seems regrettable that the authorities concerned should acquiesce in the continued existence of one factor which is so unpleasant and uncomfortable for everyone. I refer to the heavy clouds of dust which follow in the wake of any car proceeding along the Beach Road. Whatever may be the ultimate projects for highways, surely the volume of traffic and the comfort of residents and visitors warrants the expense of tar-sealing' this road. With- that done Ohope would become New Zealand’s finest beach resort. Yours etc., ' E. D. BLUNDELL, Wellington.
