Wliakatane Team Wins Tournament
An open'tournament at the Whakatane Bowling Club’s greens on Sunday attracted teams from Te Puke and Taneatua. Play was of a high standard although the Whakatane teams were the only ones to reach the finals. Conditions were ideal for good play. Results:— Qualifying teams, A ’section: Littlejohn, Merito, McLeod, McKenzie; B section: J. Rivett, Hollis, Oswald, Murphy and Alexander,. Me-' Isaac, Howat, Henderson. Semi-final: McKenzie a bye; Murphy beat Henderson. Final: Murphy 5 beat McKenzie 4.
