N.L Championship In March Or April

At a committee meeting of the Whakatane County Rod and Gun Club last week, it was decided to apply to the New Zealand Gun Club’s Association for permission to hold the North Island Single Rise Championship and open shoot on March 19 and 20 or April 2 and 3. The club was allocated this important event at the last annual meeting held at Christchurch m July. Competitors are expected from all parts of the North Island, and it will be the biggest event of its kind ever held in this district. Member? of the committee \ will be holding a working bee to repaint and repair the club pavilion, and make further improvements to the grounds and appointments in readiness for the championship. It was also decided to hold a club shoot on January 30, events to include a Trophy Shoot and the Rivett Buttons.
