Foot-Faulters Get Warning

Before play commenced in the New Zealand lawn tennis championships at Central Park recently a general warning to competitors against committing breaches of the foot-fault laws was broadcast over the loud-speaker system. The announcement stated that on the first two days of the tournament roving foot-fault judges had been active on the courts and had warned a number of players that they were breaking the laws. As from the time of the broadcast, the roving foot-fault officials would “call” without further warning.
