Personal
The induction of the Rev Kenneth Leggittof Opotiki as Vicar of Cambridge took place at St. Andrew’s Parish Church yesterday. Mr H. Bedford of Mt. Wellington, Auckland, who fell from the Pohaturoa Rock at the end of the Str&nd, Whakatane, and was'later admitted to the Whakatane hospital suffering from serious injuries to the right elbow, has now been shifted to the Auckland hospital. His condition when he' left was reported to be satisfactory. Sympathy for the relatives of the late Mr J, Creeke, representative of the Whakatane Borough Council on the Whakatone. Fire Board, is expressed by the superintendent of the Whakatane Fire Brigade, Mr T. Hurndell, in his report of the 1948 activities of the brigade. Tributes were paid to his work and at a recent meeting of the brigade members stood in silence in respect to his memory.
