Gun Club’s Picnic Shoot
A most enjoyable day was spent by members of the County Rod and Gun Club’s recent picnic shoot held on the club grounds. .There. was keen competition for the very fine trophies, which were donated' by members and supporters. An outstanding feature of the day was the remarkable performance of W. Hume* club champion, in winning \ the first three events and being placed second in the fourth. event after being re-handicapped 3 y§rds for each win, his final shooting mark being on the bank behind the usual tracks. .. . . - - ‘ Results:— ■* . .

Carnival Shoot At Heads .
The carnival shoot held at ,the Heads under the jurisdiction of the Whakatane County Rod and Gun Club created much interest among visitors and residents of the town, many of whom "were witnessing their first clay target shoot. Several of the competitors had not preyi-*' ously taken-part in tire sport, and all expressed their enjoyment of a good day’s entertainment. A ladies’ event was the highlight of the day.
