Marriages Increase At Whakatane
Although there is a slight decline ixi births and deaths recorded at Whakatane during last year compared with the figures of 1947 there is an increase in marriages. Births totalled 293, six.less than in 1947. Along witty this, deaths dropped by four, from 52 the previous year to 48 for 1948. However, marriages showed a sharp rise from the 67 of 1947 to 84 for last year.
