Whakatane Druids’ Lodge Installation Of Officers

On Monday evening the District President, Bro. H. C. Phillips, attended the meeting of the Whakatane Druids’ Lodge to instal the newly elected officers in their chairs for the ensuing term. At the conclusion of routine business the following members were duly installed- according to ancient custom by the District President, assisted by Bro. M. L. Gillard, P.A. as Master of Ceremonies: Arch Druid, Sister I. Latham; Junior Past Arch Druid, Bro. R. Schou; Grand Lodge Delegate, Bro. R. F. Morgan; Vice Arch Druid, Bro. G. Pulis; Inside Guardian, Sister N. Rivett; Outside Guardian, Bro. D. Hume; . Arch Druid Bards, Sisters P. Rivett and S. Ruffles; Vice Arch Bards. Sisters T. Bell and L. Pickles; Musician, Bro. B. Cottrell; Master of Ceremonies, Bro. L. Henderson. The District President also presented a Past Arch Collar to Bro* L. Henderson on behalf of the Lodge, and congratulated him on completing a very successful term of office. At the conclusion of the meeting a very excellent supper was served and ..the usual toasts were honoured.

The famous author, Joseph Conrad, could not speak a word q£ Eng-* lish at the age of 25.
