NATIONAL FILM UNIT CAMERA TEAM AT MILLS

It is probable that Whakatane, or at least a part of it, will soon be seen on the screen in the various theatres throughout New Zealand. Last Thursday a party from the National Film Unit Studios visited the Whakatane Board Mills and spent the whole day filming. Shots were taken in the mill showing all the workings and the various processes through which the card passes. The camera followed the story ’from start to finish. A staff of four covered the filming and set up the various arc lamps to provide the required light throughout the mill. The work carried on during the day and the party finally left at 9 p.m. for Rotorua.
