Aerodrome Needed at Whakatane

“We do .need an aerodrome badly at Whakatane,” said the president, Mr R. T. Morpeth, at the -annual meeting of . the Whakatane Chamber of Commerce on Thursday night. “We are vwell off the beaten track and I think fast transport to and from the district is very necessary,” he added. Mr Morpeth said that all organisations in the borough and county were unanimous in feeling to obtain a drome. In his report Mr Morpeth stated that a site had been selected, adjacent to the western end of the golf course, which was thought to be suitable.
