Indoor Bowls

To encourage the game of indoor bowls, among the friendly societies of the district, Mr J. D. Rivett recently presented a very handsome Cup for the Singles Championship to the United Friendly Societies Council. The first, tournament was conducted by the Taneatua M.U.1.0.0. F. Lodge on Tuesday evening at Taneatua when 12 members representing Taneatua, Rangitaiki, Whakatane M.U.1.0.0.F. and Whakatane Druids Lodges took part. After some very keen games -two members of the Whakatane' Druids Lodge Miss N. Rivett and Mr L. Henderson reached the final which will be played off later.
