Street Day Plans

At the monthly meeting of the Whakatane branch of the Plunket Society on Monday night final arrangements were made for the local street collection on Friday. For some months committee members have been busily sewing children’s clothing and making toys and Xmas noveleies for sale on the stalls at the Grand Theatre and Caledonian Hall.

Regarding the recent collection in the Borough for funds for a new car for the second nurse it was reported that the amount in hand was still about £SO short of the-tar-get. Members expressed their appreciation of the donations already received, which the Society gratefully acknowledges, but hoped that final and complete success of the effort was not far away.
