Rehab, Outlay Now Totals £77,400,000
; Authorised outlay on rehabilitation aid to ex-servicemen and women totalled £77,366,695 at the end of October. The largest part of this was over £57,000,000 in loans for farms, houses, businesses and,other purposes. Next major item was the purchase of land for development and settle>mfent. This accounted for Trade training and educational assistance amounted to £8,387,819, i allowances ' and grantslto £510,147, and £792,789 was for assistance to Maori ex-service-men who used the special facilities set up for thlsm rather than the normal channels open to Maori and pakeha alike.
