Edgeeumbe-Taneatua Game In Detail Edgecumbe had an outright win over Taneatua at Edgecumbe last week-end passing Taneatua’s total with ten wickets in hand. Taneatua batted first'and with 8 runs up lost their first wicket. Shaw 14, and Mc : Cready 12 proved the best batsmen of the team. McCready batted steadily until the last man in and then went out for a hit and after a nice six was bowled, the side being all out for 52. Edgecumbe in reply started well and made 21 before the loss of a wicket. K. Tunnicliffe playing nice strokes and hitting hard to the off made a valuable 26 and the side were dismissed for 62. Taneatua in the 2nd innings lost a wicket from the first ball and never recovered. An eight wicket stand by Harris and Ross added 20 runs the side making 42. Thurlow and Campbell opened for Edgecumbe and passed the Taneatua score without lpss. Highlights of the day were: A brilliant catch by J. Sykes, Taneatua, one by I. Campbell, Edgecumbe, and L.
