Concert By Infants At Edgecumbe School
A concert given by the Primers of the Edgecumbe school recently, proved very popular, and ,it was most gratifying to see some of the fathers amongst the audience. Apart from a number of musical items and reciting of nursery rhymes etc., a number of children read from their school readers and also gave their “daily talk,” , Miss . Cornish, the Infant Mistress, explaining to the adults the standard of work expected from the different age groups.
After the children had been dismissed, Miss Cornish addressed the adults, giving some very excellent advice to parents with children of pre-school age, and those with children in the primers, stressing the point that it was most important for a child to attend regularly, as the foundation of a good education was laid in the primary school.
