Closing Of Ohope School Rumoured
It is rumoured with a persistence that suggests a little more than idle gossip that the Ohope side school is to be closed and the children brought over to Whakatane to school. That there will he parental objection to such a scheme is inevitable, and the fact that a new school had actually been promised (subject to the availability of a suitable site) will do nothing to minimise it. It seems likely that this rumour will do much to precipitate the forming of the Parents’ Association that has been projected for some time, and in connection with which a preliminary meeting is being called for December 11.
