Dehorning Of All Bulls Advocated By Farmers At Paeroa

“I think it is time now that all bulls—even pedigrees—should be dehorned when they are calves,” said 'Mr P. C. Mace at the November meeting of the Paeroa branch of Federated Farmers after referring to recent accidents where a bull had gored a child and a valuable horse. Mr Mace said he thought it was a law that no horned cattle were to be trucked although it was never enforced. He moved “that the Government be asked to introduce a law that all dairy stock from a date to' be specified be dehorned within a week of birth.” Mr F. Ryde seconded the motion which was carried.
