Anglican Church Bazaar At Edgecumbe
Saturday afternoon was a very busy time for women of the Anglican Church, Edgecumbe, when they held their annual bazaar in the Central Theatre. Weather was kind, the rain finishing about noon, and a very good attendance ensured the success of the event. Stalls were numerous, and a very large variety of goods on display. Buying was brisk and steady until later in the afternoon. Rev. J. C. J. Wilson auctioned a Pinnochio doll which had been made in England and forwarded, along with other hand-made toys, to the Church. Children were very well catered for with lucky dips, soft drinks, ices and loads of home-made sweets, some of which had been made up in the most attractive little baskets. Afternoon tea, as usual, was very well patronised. Winners of the competitions were: Cake, Mrs T. Craddock. Dinner, Miss Doreen Marx.
