CAR THIEVES AT IT AGAIN.
Removed from the yard of the owner’s residence, Lovelock Street, some time during Wednesday night, Mr J. Harland’s car was recovered yesterday morning in Simpkin Street, not three-quarters of a mile from where it belonged;' It showed no signs of having been driven any distance. Nothing in the car had been disturbed except a tin in the back which had been robbed of two gallons of petrol. Petrol level in the tank was as Mr Harland had left it. The thief, or thieves, worked uncommonly quietly and showed a cool audacity worthy of a higher purpose. The car was parked near a bach occupied by Mr Harland’s two sons. The family kept a dog. And to get the car out takes a bit of careful manoeuvring. Yet not even the dog was disturbed.
