Edgecumbe ParentTeacher Association
A satisfactory gathering of parents and friends attended the final social of the year of the Edgecumbe Parent-Teacher Association held at the school on Monday evening. An entertaining programme arranged by the committee included competitions and hearty community singing led by Miss Walton, Mr Anderson, of Awakeri, playing the accompaniments. Two well-known artists, Mrs Watson and Mrs Hepburn, were at their best in a dramatic play. Items by a musical trio Mr A. Blake, violin, Mr Anderson cello and Miss P. Walton piano, were well received. Mr R. Withy, chairman of the local school committee, reported the purchase of a projector for the use of the school at a cost of £llß, the P.T.A. having contributed £2O of the amount. At the close of the evening Miss J. Cornish, president of the P.T.A., extended her thanks to everyone present for their support by coming along and also to the artists for their assistance with the programme.
