HIGH STANDARD OF BLOOMS IN FLOWER SHOW
Entries Better Than Expected
Blooms of a high standard were entered in the spring flower show conducted by the Whakatane Beautifying Society, the first for over eight years, in the Winter Show Buildings on Friday. While there were no record entries in any of the various sections, the number received were more than expected by the organising committee. The opening was marred by a heavy fall of rain which had a noticeable affect on the attendance. Later however, a large number of spectators viewed, the exhibits until the hall was closed 'on Friday night. ROSES Champion bloom: Mrs D. Macdonald’s Phyllis Gold. Three distinct colours: Miss J.
