NEW ZEALAND FORDSON MAJOR TRACTOR OWNER SAYS— Sirs : In response to your enquiry regarding the operation of my Fordson Major Tractor purchased on the 17 th December, 1946, I wish to state that the machine has been entirely satisfactory for the farm contracting business I have been operating in the Franklin and Manukau districts. „ This machine was purchased following demonstrations made in competition .-with machines costing hundreds of pounds more, and I would still have chosen the Fordson Major on its performance even if ’ the machine had been in the same price category as the other makes. This demonstration included steep hill c ountry as well as normal level country. • The Tractor has now done over 1,800 hours without any mechanical defect—oil consumption nil and overall average petrol consumption 1-1-gallons per hour. . , • My experience with other makes of tractors goes back a number of years, and I would say without hesitation that the Fordson Major is the most economical tractor to operate for all-round farming conditions. This is borne out-by the fact that I am now disposing of smaller horse-power machines operated in the past. (Sgd.) W. G. Bryant, Smith’s Avenue, V Papakura_.
