Garden Party At Taneatua

Fine weather favoured the girl guide and brownie garden ‘ party held in the garden at the residence of Mrs R. S. Ricketts, Taneatua. The guide commissioner, Mrs G,. Santon, was welcomed by the brownies, and the guides gave an interesting dis r play of company work. Three guides were examined for their hostess badges. Mrs J. Hayward was in charge of a very well stocked stall and Mrs Torrie and Mrs Mitchell were in charge of the afternoon tea. which was served in the, garden by the girl guides. Clock golf and ladder croquet were played. The Xmas cake competition number one was won by Dawn Shaw; Xmas cake number two by Mrs Gardner, while the home-made sweets were won by Mrs Jensen.
