Good Weights Of Litters Recorded By Pig Supervisor
Reporting to the Bay of Plenty District Pig Council on his activities for the period from August 23 to October 23, Mr A. F. Barwell, supervisor said that 16 litters had been recorded, two of them Official Recordings in conjunction with the Stock Inspector. The highest recorded weight at 3 weeks was a litter of 13 L.Ws owned by Mr Fielding Robinson, Nukuhou, which weighed 1391bs at three weeks. At eight weeks the weight was 4721b5.' Messrs Bunyan and Sullivan were next with a litter of 14 L.Ws. and their weights were 1281bs and 4151b5. Mr H. E. Missen was third with a litter of L.Bs. which weighed 1211bs and 3421b5. All litter records were brought up to date 30th September and left with the Secretary for transcription and forwarding to Wellington for pubilcation in the November issue of the Journal of Agriculture. Two lots of pigs were tattooed under the C.Q.S. and more have been promised. Every effort will be made to secure as many C.Q. pigs as possible as required by the Superintendent of the Pig Industry.
