Recession In Trade Occurring Now?
“The writing is on the wall. A recession in world markets is occurring and business people in New Zealand, are 'feeling the impact now,” declared Mr A. L. Friis, president, at a meeting of the executive of (the Bay of Plenty Province Federat Farmers in .moving that the Action committee be asked to bring down a report on the de-rating of farm lands. Increase in rating was becoming unbearable, Mr Friis said. “Where are we going to get with all these increasing costs?” he asked. “All farmers should be acquainted with all the points "of view concerning de-rating.”
